Twineham & Wineham…

…are just to the north of Brighton and their cricket club visited Cambridge on their ‘two hours from home’ annual tour. After a close game with the Philanderers on Friday, golf, the American Cemetery and curry took over. Sunday saw them arrive at Spring Lane via a Green & Blue lunch. Perhaps suffering from the ‘last day of tour’ syndrome, Twineham & Wineham were perhaps not at their best as good scores from the D’Oyly’s and Ferg, not to mention another hundred from Dan Farman, saw GCC amass a not inconsiderable 283 from their allocated overs. If nothing else this was testament to the extraordinary endeavours of Wiz and Jerry et al whose hours of toil preparing the wicket and ground in the light of our wonderful summer rain weather.

283 was always going to be a tough ask and so it proved to be as our visitors did at least managed to keep the fight going until I arrived rather well lunched but just in time to take a few photos….
